Refund Policy

1. General Policy
NudeLockr offers refunds on a case-by-case basis for subscription charges. We strive to provide excellent service and will work with you to resolve any issues before processing a refund.

Creator Plan ($59/month)

Pro Plan ($149/month)

3. Eligible Refund Scenarios
You may be eligible for a full or partial refund if:
3.1 Service Outages
- NudeLockr is unavailable for more than 48 consecutive hours due to our technical issues
- Core features (watermarking, certificate generation) are non-functional for more than 7 days in a billing cycle
- Refund: Pro-rated credit or full month refund depending on severity
3.2 Billing Errors
- You were charged twice for the same subscription period
- You were charged after canceling (with proof of cancellation confirmation)
- Incorrect pricing was applied to your account
- Refund: Full refund of duplicate/erroneous charges within 5 business days
3.3 First-Time Subscriptions
- You upgraded to a paid tier (Starter/Creator/Pro) and used the service for less than 7 days
- You encountered critical bugs that prevented service use (with evidence)
- The service does not match the advertised features on our pricing page
- Refund: Full refund if requested within 7 days of first charge
3.4 Third-Party API Failures
- Forensic watermarking service is completely unavailable for 14+ consecutive days
- Certificate generation fails for an entire billing month due to our negligence
- Refund: Pro-rated credit for days service was unavailable
4. NLr-Credits Policy
NudeLockr uses a credit system ("NLr-Credits" or "Credits") to meter access to certain features such as watermarking, tracing, and other protected services. Credits are a unit of service, not a form of currency.
4.1 No Cash Value; Non-Refundable
Credits have no cash value and are not redeemable for cash or any cash equivalent, except where required by law.
- Credits are only redeemable inside NudeLockr for eligible features and have no cash or stored-value equivalent
- Purchases of Credits (whether as part of a subscription or as add-on bundles) are final and non-refundable
- If you cancel your subscription or your account is closed, any remaining Credits are forfeited and will not be refunded or converted to cash
- Unused credits—including those that accumulate from monthly subscription refreshes—have no cash equivalent
4.2 Accrual and Rollover
Depending on your subscription tier, a set number of Credits are added to your account each billing cycle.
- Unused Credits automatically roll over to the next billing period
- Credits may be used as long as your account remains active and in good standing
- Free tier users receive 5 Credits/month for their first 3 months and may purchase additional Credits at standard pricing
4.3 Non-Transferable
Credits are personal to your account and may not be sold, assigned, transferred, or shared with other users or accounts without our prior written consent.
4.4 Expiration and Changes
Credits do not expire while your subscription remains active and your account is in good standing.
- If your account is terminated, suspended, or inactive for a prolonged period (90+ days), any remaining Credits may be forfeited at our discretion
- We may, from time to time, introduce an expiration period for Credits or modify existing policies
- If we materially change an expiration policy, we will provide reasonable advance notice (by email or in-app notification)
4.5 Refunds, Chargebacks, and Credit Value
In the event of a refund or chargeback, Credits associated with that transaction will be deducted from your account. If your Credit balance is insufficient, your account may be suspended until the balance is resolved.Refunds and chargebacks do not create cash value for any Credits already consumed or remaining in your account.
5. Non-Refundable Scenarios
Refunds will NOT be issued for:
- Change of mind: "I don't need this anymore" after using the service for more than 7 days
- Watermark extraction failures: Trace Checker unable to extract watermarks from heavily modified content
- DMCA rejections: Platforms rejecting your takedown notices (we provide tools, not guarantees)
- Partial month cancellations: Canceling mid-month does not prorate the current month (service remains active until period ends)
- Account terminations: Refunds are not provided if your account is terminated for Terms of Service violations
- User error: Uploading files incorrectly, not understanding how to use features (contact support for help first)
- Past billing cycles: Refund requests for charges older than 60 days
6. How to Cancel Your Subscription
You can cancel your subscription at any time:
Steps to Cancel:
- Log in to your NudeLockr account
- Go to Dashboard → Settings → Subscription
- Click "Cancel Subscription"
- Confirm cancellation (you'll receive an email confirmation)
Important: After canceling, you will retain access to paid features until the end of your current billing period. No partial refunds for unused days in the current cycle.
Alternatively, you can manage your subscription directly through Stripe's customer portal (link provided in your subscription confirmation email).
7. How to Request a Refund
Refund Request Process:
- Email hello@nudelockr.com with subject "Refund Request"
- Include:
- Your account email address
- Transaction ID or charge date
- Reason for refund request (see eligible scenarios above)
- Supporting evidence (screenshots, error logs, etc. if applicable)
- We will respond within 3 business days
- Approved refunds are processed within 5-10 business days
- Refunds appear on your original payment method
Note: Refunds are processed through Stripe and may take 5-10 business days to appear in your account depending on your bank's processing times.
8. Pro-Rated Service Credits
In cases where a full refund is not warranted but service issues occurred, we may offer pro-rated account credits that can be applied to future billing cycles. Credits are calculated based on days of service unavailability.
Example: If watermarking was down for 10 days in a 30-day billing cycle, you may receive a 33% credit ($9.60 for Starter, $19.50 for Creator, $49.50 for Pro) applied to your next invoice.
9. Chargebacks and Disputes
Important Notice on Chargebacks:
If you initiate a chargeback through your bank or credit card company without contacting us first, your account will be immediately suspended and all data will be flagged for deletion after 30 days.
Chargeback fees: Stripe charges us $15 per chargeback. If your chargeback is found to be invalid (e.g., "I forgot I had this subscription"), we reserve the right to ban your account permanently.

10. Free Trial Refunds
If we offer a free trial period in the future:
- You will not be charged during the trial period
- Cancel before the trial ends to avoid charges
- No refunds for charges after trial conversion if you forgot to cancel
- We will send reminder emails 3 days before trial ends
11. Downgrade Policy
You can downgrade from any paid tier (Starter/Creator/Pro) to Free at any time:
- Downgrade takes effect at the end of your current billing cycle (no partial refund)
- Protected files and certificates are retained for 30 days after downgrade
- Free plan limits apply immediately after billing period ends

We encourage you to contact our support team at hello@nudelockr.com before requesting a refund. Many issues can be resolved quickly:
- Technical problems: We can troubleshoot and fix bugs
- Feature confusion: We provide onboarding help and tutorials
- API issues: We monitor third-party services and provide status updates
- Billing questions: We can explain charges and adjust plans
13. Changes to Refund Policy
We reserve the right to update this Refund Policy at any time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last Updated" date. Material changes will be communicated via email to all active subscribers.
